The Gardens of the Malenos. An oasis in the middle of the desert



Around the house, in the 70,000 m2 estate, there are multiple reading and resting corners: the threshing floor, the porch on the east façade, the terrace on the west façade, the vine bench, the fig tree chillout or of the carob tree.

In all of them you can enjoy absolute tranquility and the only sound that can accompany us is that of cicadas when it is very hot on summer days or that of crickets as soon as the sun goes down.

In the old labor era it is where cocktails or dances are held when there is a wedding. We have made a garden around it.

We have a garden of aromatics, fruits and vegetables that allow us to make our own jams and compotes and salads with the products from our totally organic garden.

There is a cistern in the highest part of the property. That is where the water we use to water the garden is stored. The mains water for the entire farm comes from the Carboneras desalination plant. Once used in the facilities, it goes to a biological treatment plant and the water is recovered for garden irrigation.

The old irrigation ditch is made of stone, we have restored it and use a section as a fountain.

There are two parking lots for hotel guests, one surrounded by olive trees and on the other side of the road for those attending the farmhouse activities.

In the upper part of the farmhouse is the swimming pool that looks like a pool and is very integrated into the landscape. We use a salt chlorination system to purify the water and thus avoid the unpleasant smell of chlorine.
We have managed to turn a rural accommodation into a true oasis in the middle of the Cabo de Gata Níjar desert.
